I guess the thing is to make a greeting for this little device that lets you know you've reached the phone of Amaya Blackstone, and you can leave a message for me here, and that I promise not to take apart this one like I have the past three. I haven't figured out how to get them back up and running yet, but I will, you mark my words. This one, I'll not tinker with. Apparently it's important. So rest assured, you can reach me here, and I'll try to get back. I mean, I suppose it's more efficient than a letter, but it's still a little strange..."

Sometime in the early hours of February 14th, a delivery would arrive at Amaya's door -- a carefully-packaged and potted tropical pitcher plant, along with instructions for its care (which, of course, included feeding it unless the plant was placed outside to catch its own insect prey.)

There was also a note:

I don't think this one likes fire much. Probably do better in a greenhouse.
