"I'm fine," said Amaya, wincing a little as she sat up and gingerly rubbed at the new hammer-shaped bruise she was going to have on her back...should go along nicely with the ball-shaped ones she'd gotten earlier that day.

But then she thought a moment about what Seivarden had said, which seemed, to her, somewhere between an excuse and a joke, but the more she thought about it...

She blinked.

And blinked again.

That...actually...made sense! Diaz's bad mood, the fact that Fjord would be completely obvious to it, the fact that she had been completely oblivious until this whole fiasco...!

"That's the thing this week?" she asked, not necessarily to Seivarden, but maybe to just the universe in general. But once she said it outloud, it seemed a little too fitting. "No...no, it couldn't be. It wouldn't. That's just be....that'd be...."

But on the other hand...

...and also...

"No. Well."

Things were clearly busy tumbling aorund inside Amaya's head right now, just give her a moment, and the disconcerted look on her face for a moment suggested that she'd finally reached some sort of conclusion.

"This island, I swear," she said, throwing up her hands a little. "One week, it decides all its wants is for us to start banging around like jackrabbits, and the next it's all 'nope, sorry, none of that now!'"

There was another doubtful pause, just one more appeal with a "No...." followed by an "I think I'd rather go back to the monsters."

Crushing monsters at least gave her some satisfaction!
